Anxiety is the feeling you get when you are either excited or terrified with what is bound to happen. We all have felt anxious in life. We might have felt fidgety in our first stage performance, before taking an examination, after taking an examination while waiting for the results, before undergoing a check-up, and in so many more situations. Being anxious is a normal human response to the unpredictability of events. When can this anxiety go overboard and considered a disorder?
When you felt anxious when faced with any of the situations mentioned above or in any situation for that matter, what have you noticed? Your body starts to compensate when your mind is already feeling stress, your body compensates in ways such as sweating, or being shaky, or feeling our heart rates rise or becoming nauseous. But when these anxiety effects start crossing the line and become uncontrollable, even persisting after the events have passed, or even occurs abnormally frequently – it may be a good time to have an evaluation for anxiety disorder tendencies.
When left untreated, Anxiety Disorders may lead to further complications such as heart attacks or cardiac illnesses. The brain can even shut itself down due to the anxiety. But keep in mind that anxiety disorders are treatable.
